I am trying to separate C++ code from CPython code in the following way:

I would like to do this so that I can use the CPython_object from Python. I can only find examples on how to make both C and Python objects from C++. How can I separate C++ from Python?

First off, this is a bad idea. You can do this and still have CPython and C++ (or PyPy, etc.) share a single C API — it’s actually one of the things that makes the C API a pain to use — and what you’ve described would simply be copying the interface details into the Python one.
Now, there are all sorts of ways you could do this. In fact, you can put all of your Python into C (or C++) and use this technique to take the Python code and put it into C.
If you are interested in using a ctypes based Python, you might find PyPy useful.
If you really, really don’t want to have CPython and C++ use the same C API, you could write your C++ in a way that allows you to compile it into a shared library, then have Python link against that library. You could also use a more modern toolchain (e.g. LLVM) to compile a C++ interface library that can be linked by other code. (I’m not going to write up an example here because doing that is neither simple, nor fun, nor worth my time. I recommend that you find some other books or blogs or ask on this topic in the C++ mailing lists. You really should not do this without spending some serious time thinking about what you’re doing).
